I want to tell you a story
December 19, 2009 on 7:50 pm | In Financial Success, Self Development, Uncategorized | 2 CommentsThe lines from Fela’s song that goes…I want to tell you a story, no be story o, I want to tell you a story is now ringing in my head, in line with the title of this article. So it’s been 10months, waoh! In the spirit of the season, I’m especially conscious and appreciative of what it’s been like. Oh well, for those who might not know what I’m referring to, “It” is the period since I opted out of life as I used to know it – the shieldedness of my paid job. The initial decision to exit, as much as the sustained decision to stay self-employed, have both been risky and brave. I don’t intend to take it lightly, neither do I intend to hype it more than necessary but remember that we are living in times that have been dubbed “recession” so hey, it’s no mean feat. It’s enabled me discover an aspect that I probably will never have known but for the step I took, I mean I knew the theory but this was practical. Continue reading I want to tell you a story…

Navigating this street called life?
March 16, 2009 on 10:23 am | In God-factor, Life, Quotable Quotes, Self Development | 8 CommentsHow do we navigate this street called life? How do you meander through its ups and downs, its lefts and rights or its highs and lows?
Are you the spur-of-the-moment spontanious kinda person typically going with the flow? Or are you the let’s-wait-and-be-absolutely-sure-before-we-move kinda person?

Success and Climbing up
January 20, 2009 on 5:03 am | In Career, Financial Success, God-factor, Life, Quotable Quotes, Self Development, Success Tips | 8 CommentsI got thinking again this morning(how for do now?)…this time around its about the pressure we often put ourselves (and others) under to climb up ( the ladder of success of course)
We complicate it further by adding the rate at which you must climb and the timing under which it must be achieved to it. So its not just enough to have been seen to have “arrived”, you must have done so very rapidly and in quick successive movements, not so? Otherwise, you no be high-flier abi? Hype!

2008 in Perspective:The Secret to Achieving more in 2009
December 30, 2008 on 11:06 am | In Career, Family, Financial Success, Investment, Motivation in little things, Self Development | 4 CommentsI will not let this year end without updating this site. Happy holidays to you. Its been one helluva year and boy did it have its share of ups and downs, hopefully more up than down. As is my custom (for at least 8years now), I do a big review of the year right about this time every year and basically flip out my goal list and begin to evaluate.
I never used to have a goal list, I thought having a mental idea (only) of what I planned to do was just good enough. The first time I heard Rev Sam Adeyemi tell us to come to Watchnite (Crossover) service with our goal list, I panicked and struggled. “The shortest pencil is stronger than the biggest memory” he said. “Write it down! You’ll give those dreams their first step towards materialisation when you write them down”. And so I did and together we prayed upon them and I’ve never broken the tradition since then cos I found that it works.

Life’s Choices
October 6, 2008 on 12:02 am | In Self Development | 2 CommentsI wanted an appropriate caption but I feared that the longer I tried, the higher the tendency to loose my train of thought and drop the article totally
In more recent times, I’ve found myself in a kind of dilemma. Should I live life knowing that I always have better options or should I live it knowing I’ve got no other option?
The thing about thinking you’ve got other options is that, you continually try to re-invent yourself, rediscover yourself but in so doing, you never really exert yourself…I mean stretch your current option to its limit cos that thing keeps telling you, pushing you to you other options. So you are a jack of all trades who is seeking which you’ll be the master of, but life is short remember!
On the other hand, if you lock yourself into a course, a particular life’s course, burning all bridges, going into this room with only one door whose handle is on the outside, then you give yourself no chance but to succeed at your current option. Outcome can be negative if you don’t feel so passionately about this current course….I mean it could lead to frustration
I guess I can conclude by saying, I ought to find that thing I am most passionate about and go after it. Passion unlocks a whole lot…potential, excellence, commitment, contentment, peace, fulfillment. What can I say?

The Psychology of a Bad Salesman
February 25, 2008 on 12:18 pm | In Ideas, Life, Motivation, Self Development | 4 CommentsWhen you wake up in the morning,
You have two choices
Go back to sleep and dream your dreams or
Wake up and chase those dreams
The choice is yours.
Have you ever wondered what correlation, if any, exists between getting ideas and the bathroom…..? Well, I have.
I know someone else (a great motivational speaker) other than myself who also gets ideas in the bathroom.
The bathroom is a place where no distractions exist… Learn to shut out distractions and connect with your inner self. I do this a lot. Are you scared that you might die of boredom if you are alone for a length of time? (No TV, No phone calls, No internet, no radio etc) Anyways, lest i digress as i am wont to do. I was going to say i got the idea for this article while in the bath. This isn’t TMI, is it?
