Hooded tops in Naija…

Did you know that the saying, “necessity is the mother of invention” is so true where hooded tops are concerned?

If you have experienced the cold in those parts like I just did, you will gladly dress ninja or eleha style just to survive.

As I walked in the harsh weather called winter, oh ok was it spring or spring break? All na cold as far as i’m concerned, my mind was thinking of creative ways to beat the cold, and would have gladly invented hooded tops or something close, if they weren’t already in existence.

Ever since I had this flashback , I have failed to understand why we wear hooded tops in this parts, oh ok, it’s the rappers or hip-hop dress code right? Or one of those other things that we just copy blindly.

Are you?

My first Snippet goes thus…

Are you..

Afraid to Live, and afraid to Die?…..

I guess Dolly Parton has more to say in her song…

Dolly Parton – Afraid To Live And Afraid Of Dying

They say most anything you eat could hurt your health

Be careful what you drink, don’t harm yourself

And pollution in the air might make you sick

Makes you afraid to live, afraid that you might die too quick

Do the men that quote this danger really know? (that)

Life is a gift to be enjoyed and not to worry so

The biggest danger sign that we should know

Make sure we’re right with God, as through this world we go

We’re afraid to live ’cause we’re afraid of dyin’

And afraid to love the one we love, afraid they might be lyin’

We can’t enjoy life when they say each thing might bring an early grave

We’re afraid to live ’cause we’re afraid of dyin’

Do the men that quote this danger really know? (That)

Life is a gift to be enjoyed, why worry so?

The biggest danger sign that we should know

Make sure we’re right with God, as through this world we go

Make sure we’re right with God, as through this world we go

You lived in a different age if….

You had to wait till 4 o’clock to get any meaningful thing on NTA and by 12 midnight, no programmes were on TV

Right after school, you would eagerly sit in front of the T.V at 3:30pm watching all the multicolored lines while you waited for NTA to come up.

There was no AIT, STV, Channels and Cable TV was certainly not anywhere around, don’t even mention DS or HiTV

The National Anthem was the first thing on TV, it was black and white TV of course (who dash us LCD or Plasma?)
